Southern Squid

Australian waters contain the highest diversity of cephalopods (squids) found anywhere in the world, including the deep ocean thousands of metres below the surface.

The Southern Squid is a fast-growing reef squid native to the shallow coastal waters of Australia and New Zealand. They grow up to 50cm in mantle length and around 3 to 4kg, living a short lifespan of about 1 year. 

Material: Brass or Stainless Steel, with wax-coated cord

Process: Laser cut by machine, de-nested by hand (separating the finished parts from the main sheet) and de-burred to a satin finish by hand. 

Measurements: W 65mm x L 120mm, depth 1.2mm 
Weight: 20g
